SolarAfrica is expanding rapidly, and we're looking for a commercially minded Legal Advisor on a short-term contract basis to support our next phase of growth. You’ll work at the heart of the business, partnering with commercial, procurement, sales and operations teams to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts for large‑scale renewable energy projects.

This is not your typical legal role.

You’ll work at the heart of the business, partnering with commercial, procurement, sales, and operations teams to negotiate deals, manage legal risk, unlock opportunities, and help bring large-scale renewable energy projects to life.

From contract drafting and negotiations to dispute management, legal advisory support, and governance, you’ll be the legal voice in the room, helping teams make smart, commercially sound decisions with confidence.

What you'll be doing:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and project agreements
  
• Providing practical legal advice on contractual, commercial, and procurement matters
  
• Identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks before agreements are signed
  
• Supporting contract renewals, amendments, claims, and dispute resolution matters
  
• Working closely with external legal counsel when required
  
• Contributing to scalable legal processes, governance, and compliance frameworks

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds an LLB (or equivalent law degree)
  
• Has 5+ years' experience in a legal or commercial legal advisory role
  
• Has strong contract drafting and negotiation experience
  
• Understands contract law, procurement processes, and dispute resolution
  
• Balances legal risk with commercial realities
  
• Communicates clearly, confidently, and practically
  
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based industries will be highly advantageous.
