As a Consultant Microbiologist, you play a central role in supporting both clinicians and patients through thoughtful, expert consultation and the delivery of a dependable pathology service. Responsibilities

• Lead the laboratory to ensure high‑quality results that support critical care decisions.
• Provide expert consultation to clinicians and patients, and maintain a dependable pathology service.
• Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and professional development within the team.
• Engage with hospital clinicians, pharmacy, and infection control teams to support patient care and local diagnostic programs.
• Contribute to continuous education within pathology and help attract and nurture talent to strengthen long‑term capability and succession pipelines.

Qualifications
