Qualifications

• MBChB degree required with postgraduate qualification in anaesthesiology (MMed or FCA).
• HPCSA registration as Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology required.
• Proof of current HPCSA registration for 01 Apr 2026 – 31 Mar 2027.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level anaesthetic and perioperative services for elective and emergency surgery.
• Perform pre-anaesthetic assessment, risk stratification, and formulate anaesthetic plans.
• Manage intraoperative monitoring, airway management, and postoperative analgesia.
• Support critical perioperative care and escalate/referral when needed.
• Supervise and train registrars, interns, and students; participate in governance and research.
