Role

AltGen is looking for a Construction Supervisor to join a C&I PV project in Vereeniging. This role is an 8-month contract and requires at least 5 years of experience overseeing Solar PV construction projects. The role will manage multiple teams, including technical staff, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders. The Construction Supervisor will report to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate site construction activities.
• Manage and coordinate delivery of stock items for construction.
• Oversee construction quality control requirements.
• Assist the Project Manager with contractor and client relationship management.
• Assist the Project Manager with construction documentation control and quality assurance.
• Analyse and execute tasks according to engineering drawings and communicate any site deviations with the technical team.
• Coordinate Site Progress Reviews and ensure that project construction activities are on track, with status updates regularly communicated to the Project Manager.
• Enforce HSE, DSTI, and safety compliance with appointed subcontractors in accordance with the OHS Act.
• Be formally appointed as the Section 8(1) Construction Manager and be permanently placed on site as per the Construction Regulations; comply with the duties and responsibilities described in this appointment.
• Perform any other job duties associated with this role.

Requirements

• Diploma in a relevant electrical or mechanical technician field.
• Knowledge of relevant H&S standards.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be prepared to work weekends or overtime when required.
