About the Role

Our client, a dynamic construction company specializing in commercial and residential developments, is seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Supervisor to join their team in the bustling area of Randburg, Gauteng . This hands-on role is crucial for overseeing daily site activities, ensuring that construction work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various construction trades and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be responsible for managing site personnel, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to significant projects within Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of construction workers and subcontractors on site.
• Ensure that all construction work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and safety compliance.
• Manage site resources, including tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring efficient utilization.
• Maintain clear communication channels with the site manager, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and report any site issues, delays, or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform quality control checks on completed work and ensure it meets required standards.
• Organize and conduct daily toolbox talks to brief the team on tasks and safety procedures.
• Ensure the site is kept clean, organized, and secure.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Supervisor, Foreman, or similar role on construction projects.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, processes, and building trades.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry (e.g., OHS Act).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to site management.
• A relevant trade qualification or certification is an advantage.
• Experience working within the Randburg area or wider Gauteng province is preferred.
• Must be physically capable of performing site inspections and working in outdoor conditions.
