Job Title: Construction Health & Safety Officer

Location: City of Cape Town, Dassenberg, Atlantis

Job Type: 12 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours (on site).

Primary Industry: Construction

Secondary Industry: Construction

Salary: ZAR25000 - ZAR30000 Per month.

Job Duties
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures for construction sites
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Provide health and safety training to construction workers and contractors
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, and prepare detailed reports
  • Collaborate with project managers to address health and safety concerns
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations
Required Qualifications
  • Relevant Health & Safety Degree / Diploma OR Similar
  • Fully registereted with SACPCMP
  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer in the construction industry
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry

  • Understanding of construction processes and risks
  • Ability to effectively communicate health and safety procedures to a diverse workforce
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered with SACPCMP (not negotiable)
  • Relevant certification / accreditration (HIRA, Legal Liability, etc.)
