We are seeking a dynamic and research-driven Conference Researcher and Speaker Acquisition Officer to join our team.
This role is ideal for a postgraduate or recent graduate with strong research, communication and analytical skills who is passionate about event development, thought leadership and professional networking.
You will play a key role in developing the content and structure of high-level conferences and training events across various sectors.
Your primary focus will be identifying emerging trends, sourcing relevant speakers and ensuring that each conference delivers cutting-edge insights and real world impact.
Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, policies and innovations to inform conference themes and agendas. Identify and recruit industry experts, policymakers and thought leaders as speakers and panellists. Assist in drafting concept notes, programme outlines and speaker invitations. Build and maintain databases of potential speakers, sponsors and industry partners. Liaise with speakers and stakeholders to confirm participation and logistics. Support the marketing team with content ideas and promotional material development.
A postgraduate qualification in Communication, Political Science, Business, Public Administration, Marketing or related fields. Strong analytical and research abilities with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Interest in current affairs, innovation and professional development within Africa. Previous experience in research, event coordination or communication will be an advantage.
