Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Computer Science Educator to join their Upington academic team. The role involves inspiring students, teaching core CS principles, programming, and digital literacy, and designing engaging curriculum.

You will facilitate hands-on learning, assess progress, and prepare students for assessments and competitions, while staying abreast of new trends to enhance teaching in the Northern Cape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IT with a valid teaching qualification.
  • Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
  • Experience teaching CS at high school or tertiary level.
  • Proficient in Python, Java and C++.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging CS curriculum including programming, algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking.
  • Design and implement practical projects and activities to apply CS concepts.
  • Assess student progress, provide feedback and prepare for assessments/competitions.
  • Stay current with tech advances and integrate trends into the curriculum.

Requirements
