Job summary

A global leader in automotive manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Component Engineer (Body) to join their Product Engineering Division in Kariega. In this permanent role, you will manage the release and lifecycle of body components, solve design issues, and coordinate testing. Essential requirements include a National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering and 1 to 3 years' experience in automotive component development. Relocation support for candidates outside Uitenhage is offered.

Our client, a global leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Component Engineer (Body) to join their Product Engineering Division in Kariega. You will play a key role in the release and lifecycle management of body components and systems.

This includes:

  • Releasing components for production
  • Solving design-related issues across all locally manufactured platforms
  • Managing part-level and software build records (BoM)
  • Coordinating testing and validation of components and systems
  • Driving cost-saving initiatives into production

Essential Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in development of automotive components (Development / Improvements / Problem-solving)
  • Initiative, be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to all levels.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex components/systems/networks.
  • Good technical problem-solving ability.
  • Project management ability.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Willingness to travel.

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of automotive metal, glass, and rubber components
  • Ability or willingness to learn German and/or Portuguese
