Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to lead our global compliance program in a fully remote role with support for candidates near Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in compliance, strong regulatory knowledge (POPIA, FICA, GDPR), and proven leadership in virtual teams.

You will drive risk assessments, develop training programs, and coordinate with regulators and auditors to ensure policy adherence and ethical governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in law, business, or related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCEP) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years in compliance, legal, or risk management roles with at least 5 in management.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Compliance Manager to lead their compliance efforts, operating in a fully remote capacity with support for candidates based near Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This senior role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's comprehensive compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in regulatory frameworks, risk management, and corporate governance, with a proven ability to foster a culture of ethical conduct and compliance throughout the organization in a virtual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's global compliance program.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance vulnerabilities.
• Oversee the development and delivery of compliance training programs for all employees.
• Manage investigations into potential compliance breaches and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors on compliance-related matters.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Law, Business, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management roles, with at least 5 years in a management capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of South African and international regulatory landscapes (e.g., POPIA, FICA, GDPR).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing effective compliance programs.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a remote work environment.
