Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a passionate Recreation Program Specialist to design, implement, and manage engaging recreational activities for diverse age groups within community centers. You will lead program development, staff supervision, and facility oversight to ensure participant satisfaction and promote healthy lifestyles.

The role focuses on developing inclusive programs, supervising instructors and volunteers, and coordinating budgets and resources to support vibrant community

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and leading recreational programs or community activities.
• Strong understanding of child development, adult learning principles, and group dynamics.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• A degree or diploma in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and execute a wide range of recreational programs and activities for various demographics.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise program instructors and volunteers.
• Promote programs and activities through various communication channels to maximize community participation.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of recreational facilities and equipment.
• Manage program budgets, including supply procurement and fee collection.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and gather participant feedback to inform future planning.
