A leading security service provider in Johannesburg seeks a Community Operations Manager to drive growth initiatives and implement the local community strategy. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of mid-management experience and a PSIRA Certificate. Responsibilities include analyzing crime trends, leading strategic operations, and fostering relationships with local law enforcement. This role requires strong leadership and a people-focused approach.
Community Operations Manager (West Rand)
Reports directly to the Branch Manager and indirectly to the Regional Operations Manager.
The Community Operations Manager assists the Branch Manager with growth initiatives (OI, customers, attrition, etc.) and implements the local community strategy within the branch.
Develop and continuously refine a proactive training strategy for patrols, stand-off points, joint operations, and visibility drives.
Evaluate customer needs to drive strategy development and identify high-attrition, high-crime, and low-reconnection areas; arrange 1–2 operations per week in identified sites.
Analyse crime trends and plan special operations (FADT and / or joint operations) to combat identified trends.
Measure and report on crime reduction and client growth related to the proactive strategy.
Conduct quarterly area security risk assessments and propose solutions to Branch Manager.
Build working relationships with key SAPS personnel and attend relevant meetings.
Assist in organising joint SAPS operations, visibility drives, and roadblocks.
Ensure media channels (WhatsApp groups) are set up and that message acknowledgement, dispatch, and feedback processes are followed.
Compile monthly reports on proactive measures for stakeholders.
Attend serious crime incidents personally and assist clients with security needs.
Coordinate with LSS site steering committees and marketing / communications for PR material.
Support the Regional Operations Manager in enforcing patrols, standoff points, and SOP adherence.
Maintain budget, control overtime and expenses, and manage procurement.
Lead recruitment, performance appraisals, and disciplinary processes.
Maintain PSIRA registration, competencies, and training records.
Manage fleet logistics, firearms requirements, and payroll processes.
Ensure compliance with corporate Zero Harm philosophy and improve health and safety.
On-call 24 hours for area management.
Computer literate (MS Office, advanced Excel, PowerPoint)
