Job summary

Lesedi Nuclear Services Pty. Ltd. seeks a Community Liaison Officer to implement stakeholder engagement activities and run external community campaigns. You will coordinate PR campaigns, engage with local stakeholders, and reinforce Lesedi’s positive community image.

You will gather feedback on community concerns, revise intervention strategies, and schedule outreach meetings to uncover issues and priorities. Strong MS Office skills and interpersonal abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate
• National Diploma in Public Administration or equivalent
• Valid South African Driver’s license
• Bachelor’s degree will be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Coordinate public relations campaigns and stakeholder events.
• Engage with stakeholders per Community Engagement Plans to present Lesedi positively.
• Provide feedback on community concerns to revise intervention strategies as needed.
• Schedule outreach meetings with local community members to identify issues.
• Collate, analyse and write reports; conduct follow-up meetings with community leaders and employees.
• Liaise with stakeholders to build a communication structure and ensure service delivery goals.
• Promptly resolve incidents and other events.
• Support SD&L programs to educate the community about projects and participation.

Job description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Community Liaison Officer will implement the stakeholder engagement activities and execute external community campaigns activities.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Participate and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment where workers, external service providers/contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment. Ensuring that the project activities are carried out without any disruptions.

• Coordinate public relations campaigns and Stakeholder events.
• Engage with relevant stakeholders in line with Community Engagement Plans and reinforce a positive representation of Lesedi to the Community.
• Continuously provide feedback to the Mine on community concerns and priorities with the view to revise intervention strategies where necessary.
• Schedule outreach meetings with local community members to discover their issues and concerns.

• Collate, analyse and write reports to share insights with Lesedi, conduct further research and organize follow-up meetings to address outstanding concerns with community leaders / members, clients, and employees.
• Liaise with all stakeholders and be the first point of contact to build an effective communication structure, enhancing a harmonious internal and external relationships by ensuring the quality-of-service delivery achieve set goals.

QUALIFICATION

• Grade 12

EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years’ experience in a community outreach environment, community-based education activities with a good understanding of local communities, their norms and culture
• Computer literacy in MS Office
