About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and proactive Community Health Promoter to join their team in Paarl . You will be instrumental in raising health awareness, educating community members on preventative healthcare practices, and connecting them with essential health services. This role requires building strong relationships within the community to understand their health needs and implement effective health promotion strategies. You will contribute directly to improving the overall health and well-being of residents in the Western Cape , working towards a healthier future for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community-based health promotion programs and campaigns.


• Conduct health education sessions and workshops on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and reproductive health.


• Identify community health needs and gaps in service delivery through outreach and engagement.


• Facilitate referrals for clients to local clinics, hospitals, and other health services.


• Collaborate with local healthcare providers, community leaders, and NGOs to coordinate health initiatives.


• Collect and analyze data related to program activities and health outcomes in Paarl .

Requirements

• A qualification in Community Health, Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field.


• Previous experience in community health outreach, education, or promotion.


• Strong understanding of public health principles and common health issues in South Africa.


• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.


• Proficiency in local languages and an understanding of the cultural context of the Western Cape community.
