Public Health Organization in Polokwane, Limpopo, seeks a Community Health Educator to design, implement, and evaluate health education programs focused on prevention and wellness within diverse communities.

You will develop culturally appropriate materials, run workshops, and partner with clinics, schools, and NGOs to raise awareness of health issues and improve community well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Nursing, Community Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community health education or a similar role.
• Experience in developing and delivering health education programs and workshops.
• Strong understanding of public health principles, disease prevention strategies, and health promotion theories.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Experience in community needs assessment and program evaluation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with health information systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Cultural competency and sensitivity in working with diverse populations in Polokwane.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Polokwane, Limpopo, and its surrounding areas.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver health education programs and workshops on nutrition, hygiene, chronic disease, and sexual health.
• Create and distribute culturally sensitive health education materials (brochures, posters, digital content).
• Conduct health needs assessments within the Polokwane community to identify challenges and priorities.
• Collaborate with local clinics, schools, community centers, and NGOs to deliver interventions.
• Organize and promote community health events, screenings, and awareness campaigns.
• Educate community members on accessing local health services and resources.
• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of programs; collect data and prepare impact reports.
• Stay current with public health trends, research, and best practices.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders and stakeholders in Polokwane.
