Wigmore Trading is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Commission-Only Sales Associate to represent the company in Johannesburg and surrounding regions.
The successful candidate will focus on identifying new clients, managing relationships, and driving business growth in FMCG, industrial, and commodity sectors.
This role suits a self-motivated, results-driven professional with strong business acumen, sales experience, and knowledge of South Africa's trade and distribution environment.
Identify and develop relationships with new clients, distributors, and wholesalers in Johannesburg and Gauteng.
Promote Wigmore Trading's portfolio of FMCG, industrial, and commodity products.
Negotiate prices, contracts, and payment terms with clients in coordination with head office.
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, competitors, and trends.
Manage client communications, proposals, and follow-ups to close deals.
Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery and client satisfaction.
Represent Wigmore Trading at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, performance metrics, and market insights.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Trade preferred.
3–5 years of proven sales or business development experience.
Background in FMCG, trading, or distribution is advantageous.
Established business relationships in South Africa's retail or wholesale sector preferred.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
Strong understanding of the South African trading and logistics landscape.
Fluency in English; knowledge of Afrikaans or local languages is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
Ability to manage clients independently and work with minimal supervision.
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in commission-based roles.
