Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to menu specifications, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Kitchen Operations: Manage kitchen operations, including food storage, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Menu Planning and Development: Assist with menu planning and development, including creating new recipes and menus.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Team Management: Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive team environment.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed.
- Cost Control: Control food costs, minimizing waste and optimizing menu engineering.
Requirements
- Culinary Qualifications: Diploma or degree in culinary arts, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Culinary Skills: Strong culinary skills, including knife skills, cooking techniques, and presentation.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, including team management, communication, and problem-solving.
- Food Safety Certification: Food safety certification, such as HACCP or equivalent.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Chef: Certified chef designation, such as CMC or equivalent.
- Specialized Culinary Training: Specialized culinary training, such as pastry arts or sous vide.
- Language Skills: Ability to speak multiple languages.
- Previous Experience in a Similar Establishment: Experience working in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or resort.
