Qualifications

• Recognised culinary qualification is essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a professional kitchen.

• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards.
• Ability to follow recipes, maintain mise en place and portions.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• South African ID or valid work permit.
• Fully updated CV.

• Prepare mise en place and support senior chefs during service.

As we continue our journey toward luxury, we're looking for a Commis Chef with at least 2 years' professional kitchen experience, ideally within a busy 4-star or 5-star hotel, restaurant or high-volume culinary operation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12).
• Recognised Culinary qualification is essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a professional kitchen.
• Previous Commis Chef experience in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume kitchen is preferred.
• Experience within a busy 4-star or 5-star hotel is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards accurately.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen, including shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Professional grooming and a disciplined approach to work.
• South African ID or valid work permit.
