Job Title: Commercial Underwriter

Location: Sunninghill, Johannesburg

Employment Type: Full-Time, Office-Based

Start Date: Urgent – Immediate availability preferred

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwriting and servicing of commercial lines policies.
• Reviewing, analysing, and structuring insurance solutions to meet client needs.
• Ensuring compliance with FAIS, POPIA, and internal brokerage standards.
• Preparing quotations, renewals, policy schedules, and endorsements.
• Communicating effectively with insurers, clients, and colleagues to resolve queries and finalise placements.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting using brokerage systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years commercial underwriting experience (brokerage level essential).
• Fully accredited and fit & proper as an Authorised Representative under FAIS.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
• Exposure to the following systems will be a major advantage: Ilanga / Pursuit, Tial, MMX, & FSP Hub. Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numeracy and analytical ability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
