Job summary

A leading global diversified natural resource company is seeking a Commercial Officer in the Johannesburg area. The successful candidate will manage the contractual and commercial aspects of mining equipment purchases, ensuring effective relationships with customers and suppliers. Minimum qualifications include a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in MS Office is required, and legal experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience as a Contracts Officer or Buyer.
  • Driver's license (Code EB/08).
  • Legal or contract management experience will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the commercial interface with customers and manage commercial relationships.
  • Prepare and maintain contractual documentation.
  • Manage the contractual budget.
  • Draft and issue Request for Purchase (RFP) documentation.
  • Correspond with suppliers and manage related administrative activities.

Commercial Officer – Supply Chain

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the contractual and commercial aspects of mining equipment purchases.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the commercial interface with customers and effectively managing commercial relationships.
  • Preparing and maintaining contractual documentation.
  • Managing the contractual budget.
  • Drafting and issuing of Request for Purchase (RFP) documentation and preparing detailed adjudication reports.
  • Corresponding / negotiating with suppliers and managing all administrative related activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (Purchasing/Commercial/Legal).
  • Driver’s license (Code EB/08).
Minimum Experience
  • 2 years’ experience as a Contracts Officer or Buyer.
  • MS Office Proficiency.
  • Legal or contract management experience will be advantageous.
