JOB DESCRIPTION

The Commercial Manager will develop and execute the commercial strategy that positions the hotel as the market leader within the defined competitive set, and execute all necessary proactive and reactive sales, e-commerce, marketing & PR activities to meet and exceed the hotel's budget in regard to revenue generation and market share.

What will I be doing?

The Commercial Manager is responsible for developing a comprehensive commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue, profit performance, and market share penetration of the hotel. Specifically, the Commercial Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  1. Proactively lead all sales, reservations, and marketing activities on property.
  2. Be a great boss and role model for others regarding brand-specific behaviors, self-confidence, and a can-do attitude.
  3. Take ownership to interview, select, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate Commercial team members.
  4. Plan and execute regular commercial & sales training opportunities for TMs and HODs.
  5. Provide a positive work environment to Commercial & Sales Team Members that allows everyone to thrive and fulfill their potential.
  6. Ensure all Commercial & Sales TMs understand their roles and are equipped with the training and tools needed to perform at their best.
  7. Ensure regular and effective communication (e.g., Huddles) within the department to maintain high trust and engagement.
  8. Utilize the brand-specific Recognition Calendar and plan/execute actions regularly within the sales team and the entire hotel.
  9. Support colleagues in operations during peak service hours, such as assisting in the restaurant during breakfast or clearing tables.
  10. Spend at least 30 minutes daily assisting other departments.
  11. Establish effective working relationships with other departments to ensure high cross-departmental collaboration.
  12. Execute duties as assigned by the Chief Host and Regional Commercial Director.
  13. Analyze competitor data, activities, pricing strategies, business trends by segment, channel, GOB, and existing customer performance to ensure market share retention.
  14. Develop and thoroughly implement the commercial strategy, monitoring progress and making data-driven forecasts.
  15. Schedule and execute detailed action plans to support revenue generation across all segments and departments, maintaining positive market share year-round.
  16. Show passion for the brand in all sales conversations and negotiations, keeping the market and customer base informed of hotel activities.
  17. Actively manage key accounts across all segments and support the reservations team in conversion efforts.
  18. Develop innovative revenue-generating activities and campaigns, including F&B.
  19. Ensure correct rate loading in systems and channels, with regular audits to maintain positive digital health scores.
  20. Create and execute a robust marketing plan across all channels to position the hotel effectively and include revenue-driving activities.
  21. Position and market the hotel online and through distribution channels, working closely with eCommerce.
  22. Facilitate regular sales training for TMs and other departments to boost revenue activities.
  23. Collaborate with RMCC to optimize rates and occupancy based on demand and hotel performance periods.
  24. Monitor reservations activities and coordinate with HRCC to ensure inquiries are handled efficiently per Hilton Standards.
  25. Participate in leadership activities at the hotel and regional level.
