Job Title: Commercial Attorney (Contract)

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape (Hybrid)

Job Type: 3 Month Contract

About The Role:

We are currently seeking a qualified Commercial Attorney for an immediate-start, 3-month contract. This is a specialist role where you will partner with our client as a thought leader and expert practitioner to lead a critical template harmonization project. You will be instrumental in centralizing and streamlining their commercial contract playbook, delivering a tangible, high-quality solution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end harmonization and rationalization of our client's suite of commercial contract templates.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify requirements and gain alignment on standardized clauses and fallback positions.
  • Update and refine the template libraries within our client’s Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
  • Support the integration of the newly harmonized templates into the CLM intake and workflow processes.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • A qualified lawyer with minimum of 4 years’ of experience in commercial law.
  • Must have practical, proven experience working with Contract Lifecycles and Contract Management and an understanding of the legal intake function.
  • A proactive problem-solver who is highly organised and can manage the project independently with minimal supervision.
  • Available to start at short notice, ideally within the next 5-10 days.
Desirable Skills (Advantageous):
  • A background in the Mining or Financial Services sector.
  • Practical experience working with a CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) tool
