Placements24 is seeking an experienced Marine Sports Operations Manager to lead water-based activities in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee boat rentals, waterskiing, jetskiing, kayaking and other offerings, ensuring exceptional safety and guest satisfaction.

The role requires strong leadership, maritime safety expertise, and the ability to manage a diverse team, budget, and relationships with authorities and suppliers while delivering memorable experiences in a beachfront resort

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine operations management or a similar role in hospitality/adventure tourism.
• Valid maritime certifications as required by SA maritime law.
• Proven experience in managing water sports and boating activities.
• Strong knowledge of maritime safety procedures and risk management.
• Experience with budget management and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all marine sports operations (boat rentals, waterskiing, jet skiing, kayaking, etc.).
• Develop and implement diverse marine programs and excursions.
• Ensure adherence to maritime safety regulations and resort policies.
• Manage maintenance, repair and inventory of marine equipment and vessels.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise marine instructors and boat operators.
• Manage department budget with focus on profitability and cost control.
• Enhance guest satisfaction through high-quality service and experiences.
• Build relationships with local maritime authorities and suppliers.
• Implement marketing strategies for marine offerings to guests and community.
• Respond to emergencies and manage crises at sea or on the water.
