Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage daily accounting tasks in Mossel Bay. This role supports the finance manager and ensures accurate records, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining smooth financial administration.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma in Bookkeeping or equivalent, experience in small/medium businesses, and proficiency in Pastel, Xero or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a small to medium-sized business.
• Proficiency in Pastel, Xero, or QuickBooks.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using bookkeeping software.
• Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Assist with payroll processing and related entries.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other relevant tax documentation.
• Generate basic financial reports as required by management.
