Job summary

A leading automation solutions provider in Gqeberha seeks a skilled Toolmaker/Fitter & Turner to read mechanical drawings, program, and operate CNC lathes. Candidates must possess a Grade 12 education, be a qualified artisan, have 2-5 years of experience in a machining environment, and be proficient in CNC programming. Strong English communication skills are necessary, and a Code 8 Drivers Licence is required. This position emphasizes quality maintenance and tolerance adherence for project tasks.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• Formal Tertiary education: Grade 12
• Qualified Artisan: Toolmaker/Fitter & Turner
• Experience:
  • 2 - 5 years' experience in Machining / Tool making environment
  • Minimum of 2 years in CNC programming and machining
• Computer Literate
• Languages:
  • English - Read, write and speak (required)
  • Afrikaans - Read, write and speak (optional)
• Drivers Licence: Code 8- (required)

Job Objectives

• The Successful Incumbent (Toolmaker/Fitter & Turner) must be competent in reading mechanical drawings, actual planning and completion of the task as set out on the aforesaid drawing.
• Be responsible for programming and operating the CNC Lathe, for all components to be manufactured.
• He must maintain quality as well as tolerances as stipulated for all tasks assigned to him and complete tasks as per project timing requirement.
