Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to oversee cloud solution implementations with a hybrid work setup in South Africa. You will guide migrations, deployments, and optimization while aligning with business goals and stakeholder expectations.

The role requires 6+ years in PM, with 3+ years in cloud tech, and hands-on experience across AWS, Azure or GCP. Strong communication and budgeting skills are essential to drive successful cloud initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years in project management, with at least 3 years focused on cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and architecture.
• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are highly advantageous.
• Experience in managing budgets and controlling project costs.
• Ability to translate complex technical details into clear business terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of cloud-based projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk management strategies.
• Manage and mentor cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and task delegation.
• Oversee the technical aspects of cloud migrations, deployments, and configurations.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement timely solutions.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and performance standards.
• Manage relationships with cloud vendors and third-party service providers.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes within the cloud services domain.
