About the Role

Our client, a leading organization based in Parktown, is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on infrastructure architecture, not software development, and requires a deep understanding of Azure, DevOps, and Terraform within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure‑based cloud infrastructure in line with business and security requirements.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for automated deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation processes using Azure DevOps.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure operations, including networking, storage, identity management, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with data engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.
• Optimize cloud performance, cost, and scalability through continuous improvement.
• Implement best practices for cloud governance, disaster recovery, and security.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and documentation for infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5 years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect (infrastructure‑focused) with a strong emphasis on Azure, DevOps, and Terraform.
• Proven experience in designing and managing Azure environments, including networking, storage, and identity solutions.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing Azure resources.
• Strong background in cloud security, governance, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with data engineering principles and integration within cloud infrastructure.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer).
