Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure for diverse clients in a hybrid Mossel Bay setting. The role emphasizes scalable, secure, cost-efficient architectures on AWS and Azure with IaC and containerization skills.

You will lead migration strategies, mentor engineers, and collaborate with clients to drive digital transformation. Strong communication and hybrid work capability are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with demonstrated expertise in AWS and/or Azure.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale cloud solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking, compute, storage, database, and security services.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment, balancing remote work with office-based collaboration in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, ZA.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions on AWS and/or Azure.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into cloud strategies.
• Develop comprehensive cloud migration strategies and roadmaps.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud best practices, security, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
• Lead the implementation and deployment of cloud infrastructure, services, and applications.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to meet evolving business needs.
• Create detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on cloud projects.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and develop effective solutions.
