Your day at NTT DATA

The Cloud Pre‑sales Architect is a developing subject matter expert, responsible for supporting the definition of architecture for large systems. This role assists with conducting system design activities to ensure that architectural solutions meet technical and functional requirements. The Cloud Pre‑sales Architect participates in architectural analysis, evaluation, and design of systems that support and seek to solve complex business and technical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in system design activities and proactively support the review of detailed application, software, and system components across a variety of technology stacks.
  • Receive instructions to ensure architectural solutions meet technical and functional requirements.
  • Assist with the review of existing system architecture and recommend improvements.
  • Takes direction from various stakeholders to investigate and scope change requests to determine the scale of work to be done and estimate the timeframe and input required.
  • Proactively supports the determining system loads and volumes as input into infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with the company's goals and strategies.
  • Proactively supports the design and development of new systems and solutions.
  • Ensure that new systems and solutions conform to current system architecture and/or align to strategic system architectural direction.
  • Takes direction from various stakeholders to conduct architectural analysis, evaluation, and design of systems that support and seek to solve complex business and technical problems.
  • Identify, evaluate, and assess risks to mitigate them and eliminate any factors that may interfere with the delivery of the architectural solution and dependent functional requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation of processes for integrating architectural solutions.
  • Proactively support the implementation of architectural governance, standards, and metrics for measuring, monitoring, and improving architecture.
  • Support implementation of and/or maintain the use of fitness functions to ensure architectural success.
  • Contribute to identifying potential problems that could be remediated by more effective architectural solutions.
  • Perform any related task as required.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (TOGAF preferred).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (Optional but good).
Required Experience
  • 5+ years in cloud architecture or presales roles.
  • Proven track record in Azure solution design, cost optimization, and migration strategies.
  • Experience in customer workshops, RFP/RFI responses, and technical presentations.
  • Familiarity with multi‑cloud environments and hybrid architectures.
  • Exposure to industry verticals (e.g., banking, insurance, retail) for tailored solutions.
