Job summary

Amazon in Cape Town is seeking curious engineers to design, build, and operate innovative products, collaborating with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to deliver value for customers.

You will design scalable cloud-native solutions, participate in code reviews, maintain distributed systems, and explore GenAI-powered tooling to boost development productivity, while writing clean, well-documented code.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE or related field.
• Knowledge of C/C++, Python, Java or Perl.
• Strong CS fundamentals: OOP, OS, algorithms, data structures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design and operate products.
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native solutions in a distributed setup.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that scale and are cost-effective.
• Leverage GenAI tools to boost development productivity and stay current with tech.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and patterns.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
