Function Nursing Facility Position Clinical Training | Specialist Qualified x2 Introduction
Two (2) vacancies exist for Clinical Training Specialist with Perioperative Nursing Science / Critical Care Nursing Science / Emergency Care Nursing Science , based at Pretoria Learning Centre , reporting to the Regional Education Manager . The successful candidate will be responsible for producing competent and qualified nurses to meet the needs of LHC and external healthcare providers by facilitating nursing education programs.
Critical Outputs
- Support the effective recruitment and selection of students.
- Effective facilitation of postgraduate diploma nursing programme’s work integrated learning outcomes including planning, coordination with key stakeholders and implementation to meet curriculum requirements and regulatory and quality assurance standards.
- Effective planning, coordination and implementation of short learning programmes.
- Effective assessment (practical) of students to meet the curriculum requirements.
- Ensure the professional socialization of students from induction to completion.
- Participation in the research activities undertaken by the higher education institution.
- Ensure effective relationship building with internal and external stakeholders for the purposes of effective work integrated learning facilitation of nursing programs.
- Participation in programme reviews, curricula development and policy development that are undertaken by the higher education institution to meet regulatory quality assurance standards.
- Effective programme and student record keeping of the implementation of the academic programme responsible according to regulatory and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
Qualifications (required) :
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education.
- Postgraduate clinical specialization : Perioperative Nursing / Critical Care Nursing (dependent on position)
- Relevant Masters’ degree is recommended, however not compulsory.
- Registration of all qualifications, including the assessor and moderator qualification, with the South African Nursing Council is compulsory
- Basic Life Support certified
Experience
- Experience in nursing theoretical or clinical education and training at undergraduate or postgraduate level
- Preference will be given to a candidate with more than 2 years’ experience
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
- Experience in facilitating online learning recommended.

- Computer proficiency (MS Office packages and learning management systems) is essential
- Driver’s license and ability to travel is essential
