Job summary

Mediclinic Muelmed Renal Services in Arcadia, Pretoria, is recruiting a Clinical technologist (Nephrology) to deliver safe, comprehensive patient care in dialysis settings according to the Scope of Practice and Renal Care policies.

You will work with a multi-professional team to ensure patient safety, accurate records, and a positive experience, while maintaining IPC protocols and nephrology guidance. Preference given to internal applicants; join Mediclinic Southern Africa.

Qualifications

• Essential education: Degree / Diploma in Clinical Technology (Nephrology).
• Essential experience: HPCSA-registered nephrology technologist with at least 2 years dialysis experience.
• Desirable education/experience: None specified in the advert.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality patient care, with specific reference to renal disease treatment and education according to the Scope of Practice and Renal Care policies and standard procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in Clinical Technology (Nephrology)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Clinical technologist (Nephrology) registered with the HPCSA with a minimum of 2 years Dialysis experience

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Basic Life Support trained (ACLS, ATLS, PALS training for specialised wards)
• Chronic dialysis treatment
• Clinical record keeping, procedures and protocols
• Computer literacy: MS Office and Dialysis Programme
• Develop/ modify a integrated, comprehensive patient based care plan and dialysis prescription
• Dialysis machine and water purification system operation
• Infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols
