Job summary

Remote Recruitment is seeking a Clinical Specialist to provide expert technical support and engage healthcare professionals across South Africa. The role focuses on wound closure, suture products, cardiology and endosurgery solutions, with field-based visits to key facilities.

You will train clinical teams, demonstrate devices in theatres, and support sales activities while establishing strong hospital relationships and acting as the technical authority on product applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or a relevant discipline.
• 4–8 years of clinical support or field sales experience within surgical environments.
• Solid experience in suture sales, wound closure solutions, or surgical field support.
• Proven ability to engage credibly with senior doctors and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

Our client is an established global medical technology manufacturer specialising in advanced surgical devices, cardiology, endosurgery, and wound closure solutions. They are expanding their operations in South Africa and seeking a Clinical Specialist to provide expert technical support, engage healthcare professionals, and assist in driving product adoption in theatre environments.

What you will do

• Engage with surgeons, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and clinical teams in operating theatres to demonstrate and support advanced surgical devices.


• Provide clinical training, product guidance, and technical support for wound closure, suture products, cardiology, and endosurgery solutions.


• Support field sales activities to establish and grow local clinical relationships.


• Serve as the technical authority on product applications and best practices during surgical procedures.


• Assist in developing tailored market approach plans to support business growth.

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, or a relevant discipline.


• Between 4 and 8 years of clinical support or field sales experience within surgical environments.


• Solid experience in suture sales, wound closure solutions, or surgical field support.


• Proven capability to engage credibly with senior doctors and Key Opinion Leaders.


• A strong balance of technical academic knowledge, market awareness, and leadership potential.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in cardiology, endosurgery, or surgical robotics.


• An established clinical network within hospital groups across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.

What is on offer

• Salary: R30 000 - R35 000 per month.
