Job summary

  • A relevant tertiary qualification preferably a Clinical Psychology Degree
  • Current valid registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Experience in culturally diverse communitiesPC Literate
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Experience in primary health care services is desirable
  • Flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, depending on the needs of the clinic and the patients
  • May require work at different clinics or community health facilities
Key Performance Areas
  • Provides primary care mental health psychology interventions for patients in primary health care facilities (clinics) including diagnosis, counselling and therapeutic interventions (treatment)
  • Participates in the clinic-based multidisciplinary team meetings around patients' case reports
  • Provides Interpersonal relationship management as a subject expert
  • Project manages at clinic level the implementation of the mental health programme
  • Conducts or participates in operational research that addresses gaps or challenges in mental health service delivery, client experience, or clinical outcomes
  • Pletes administrative tasks related to job function
  • Provides support for the mental health programme
