A healthcare facility in Johannesburg seeks a licensed Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services, including medication dispensing and consultative care. Candidates should possess a Pharm.D., and experience in a health-system setting is preferred. The Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for providing pharmaceutical services to the patient in accordance with regulatory requirements (Title 22, OBRA), professional standards (ASHP guidelines), and state and federal laws. These services involve compounding and dispensing drugs; providing consultative services including vancomycin, anticoagulation, and total parenteral nutrition management; antibiotic stewardship; code response; multi‑disciplinary rounds; precepting of students and residents; assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of pharmacy operations and programs for the enforcement of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to drugs. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Current CA Registered Pharmacist license
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy or equivalent. Pharm.D. preferred.
PGY1 pharmacy residency or 1‑3 years inpatient experience preferred.
Health‑system experience preferred.
Clerical / Administrative Non‑Patient Care: Frequent sitting and standing / walking with frequent position change.
Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
Occasional / intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
Occasional / intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing / pulling, twisting, and climbing.
Occasional / intermittent lifting and carrying objects / equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co‑workers and performing job duties.
