Job summary
Mediclinic George in South Africa is seeking a registered general nurse to deliver safe, comprehensive care on-site in our ward. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to apply the Scope of Practice and maintain accurate nursing records.
The role requires a General Nursing degree or diploma; postgraduate qualifications are desirable. You will participate in infection prevention, pharmacology, and care planning, with opportunities to develop skills in a supportive hospital environment.
Qualifications
- ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing.
- DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Post-graduate certificate / diploma in relevant specialty area.
- ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None.
- DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post-graduate qualification experience in a similar specialised unit.
- ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE: Infection prevention and control; Pharmacology; Scientific nursing principles and process; Nursing processes and procedures; Develop/ modify a nursing care plan; Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards).
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
- Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
- Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
- Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
- Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged
