Job summary

Durban University of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Technology. The three-year contract requires a B-Tech in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, HPCSA registration, and at least three years’ experience in radiography practice and student training.

Responsibilities include coordinating clinical practice, supervising students, and maintaining radiography clinic quality while contributing to teaching, research, and community

Qualifications

• B-Tech in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years' work experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• HPCSA registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• Undertake practical training and assessment.
• Conduct student practicals.
• Co-ordinate Clinical Practice.
• Monitor student’s progress in Clinical Practice.
• Ensure quality control in the Radiography Clinic, and manage the day-to-day running of the Radiography Clinic.
• Supervise, train and assess undergraduate students in the Radiography Clinic.
• Co-ordinate and manage work preparedness programme for students.
• Co-ordination of discretionary clinical grants.
• Communication with students through traditional and online mediums.
• Involved in community engagement projects.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by HOD.
• Working collegially with team members towards attaining the goals of the department, faculty and Institution.
