• An excellent understanding of lab, pharmacy and nursing processes and flows is advantageous
• Clinical research background with Principal Investigator experience is essential
• Strong management experience in clinical functions within a research portfolio or environment
• Publications record of at least 5 publications in HIV, TB, STIs and/or maternal research.

Key responsibilities include

• Serve as a key liaison between the Executive Committee and the Clinical functions of the organisation.
• Serve as a key liaison between the organisation and external sponsors of research projects.
• Ensure that the clinical functions are streamlined and effectively managed to support the strategic objectives of the organisation.
• Oversee the study investigators and provide relevant training, mentorship, and guidance to the investigator team in order to develop the overall site research capacity.
• Plan strategically, effectively, and flexibly around study-specific requirements and the site’s operational requirements.
• Maintain a balanced and productive equilibrium in the clinic, across all clinical functions (liaison with nurses, lab, and pharmacy teams).
• Ability to respond to crisis and urgent situations with flexibility, maturity, and resourcefulness.
• Contribute towards the research and scientific output of the organisation.
• The candidate will be based in Soshanguve.
