Client Portfolio Executive – Agriculture
Strategically and operationally manage and grow a portfolio of high‑revenue generating business clients.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all activities performed by team representatives serving a client segment of a million plus.
- Achieve net profit growth for the business.
- Drive an increase in average balance of a specific portfolio of liabilities.
- Manage costs or expenses within an approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Manage and grow existing clients and expand the portfolio through proactive portfolio management.
- Maximise business portfolio, cross‑sell opportunities, and strengthen client relationships.
- Maintain expert knowledge on specific products, pricing, application procedures, processing, and timelines to drive and achieve relevant sales targets.
- Analyse and understand complex client needs and provide appropriate solutions through deal structuring.
- Manage the sales lead pipeline and enter all qualified leads into the system.
- Translate strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects/initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with performance measures and control systems to track progress.
- Ensure compliance with systems and procedures as laid out by FNB.
- Take all necessary actions to ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in the area of accountability.
- Initiate, prepare and present credit proposals to the relevant credit committee to secure credit facilities for clients within policy.
- Accumulate information to review work progress and provide input to reporting, decision making, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Business Banking degree (Finance).
- Agriculture‑related qualification an advantage.
- RE5 certification and a recognised qualification by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority.
- 3–5 years banking experience with judgmental credit and agricultural experience.
- Must not be an unrehabilitated insolvent.
- In accordance with the National Credit Act (NCA), candidates applying for this role will require a credit record check.

- Ability to bring in new business and increase acquisition.
- Strong credit experience and negotiation skills.
- Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships (any segment).
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Exposure to dealing with juristic clients.
- Portfolio management experience.
