The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Payroll or Business Administration and relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets is required. Job Overview: Handles a skilled level of calculations, verbal and written communications, outside enquiries, follow-up or explanation.
May seek advice from a Section Leader but has some discretion.
Handles a greater variety of tasks, level clerical staff. Administer payroll related tasks, resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee payroll queries. Support the Automation or grading of payroll systems. Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures. Administer Unemployment and Workers Compensation. Updating payroll records by entering changes to employee information, union fees movements. Administer and assist with the benefits administration fund related tasks, Incapacity Leave and Ill Health. Training junior employees with changes on the payroll system. Support with audits and year end reconciliation. File and store payroll documents securely and in accordance with data protection laws. Assist with ad hoc, general office tasks, such as creating PO's and assisting the reception desk and other duties. Excellent verbal written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines and expectations with minimal supervision. Prepare and submit required payroll reports to internal departments or external agencies, coordinate and process the Temporarily Employees data / time and attendance. Assist employees with understanding their pay slips, deductions and leave balances. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies or errors.
Matric with Certificate / Diploma in Payroll / Business Administration. Bachelors Degree in Accounting, would be an advantage. 3-5 years relevant experience within the payroll office environmentputer skills include MS Office, E Mails and other systems. Excell and Google Sheet.
