Currently looking for a Clamp Operator to safely operate clamp forklift equipment to handle, move, and store chemical raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials within a chemical manufacturing or warehouse environment, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and hazardous materials protocols.

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Valid Clamp Forklift Operator Licence (F11 or relevant operating license)
  • Valid forklift competency certificate
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience operating a clamp forklift in an industrial or warehouse environment (chemical industry experience advantageous)
  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders and stock documents
  • Physically fit and medically cleared to work in chemical conditions
  • Strong safety awareness and compliance
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Time management and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of OHS Act and chemical industry regulations
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a Clamp Forklift to load, offload, stack, and move chemical products and materials
  • Handle drums, bulk bags, pallets, and chemical packaging with precision and care
  • Ensure safe transportation of hazardous materials and adherence to chemical handling procedures
  • Inspect clamp equipment before and after use; report and record any mechanical issues
  • Ensure accurate material movement according to stock and production requirements
  • Follow chemical plant SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) procedures
  • Assist in warehouse housekeeping and maintain clean, safe work areas
  • Adhere to waste management and spill response procedures
  • Support inventory management and stock control activities
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and warehouse teams.
