Responsibilities
- Handle the initial stages of claim processing, including receiving, sorting, and documenting incoming claim forms and related documents
- Contact policyholders, agents, and other involved parties to gather missing information, clarify details, and verify claim authenticity
- Enter, retrieve, and manage claims information using computer systems and maintain organized, updated claim files
- Review claims for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and insurance policy details
- Answer inquiries from policyholders or their representatives regarding claim status and policy coverage
- Perform general clerical duties such as filing, copying, and distributing documents to appropriate personnel
- Calculate the amount of a claim and process payments or transmit claims for further investigation or adjudication
