Job summary

Wenz in Bellville, Cape Town, seeks a Civil Engineering Technologist/Engineer to join the team. The role focuses on design, procurement, contract administration and construction monitoring of large multi-disciplinary projects within a design office environment.

The candidate will report to Directors and work on municipal, commercial and industrial developments, requiring B.Eng/B.Tech and professional registration or eligible status within 12 months.

Qualifications

• B.Eng or B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Non-negotiable)
• Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist (or eligible to register within the next 12 months)

Responsibilities

• Design of civil services for municipal, commercial and industrial developments, including documentation and contract administration/monitoring
• Produce technical deliverables for road, stormwater, sewer, water, ducting services and bulk earthworks
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and technical project specifications per SANS codes
• Conduct site inspections and lead site meetings
• Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems
• Interact with Clients

Civil Engineering Technologist/Engineer

Location: Bellville, Cape Town

Job Type: Permanent

Our client located in Bellville, Cape Town is looking for a talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Civil Engineering Technologist/Engineer. We welcome your application if you believe you meet all the requirements specified for this position.

The purpose of this job is to produce technical deliverables and to be part of the well-established team of Engineers and Technologists in the design, procurement, contract administration and construction monitoring of large scale multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will form part of an existing design office and will report to the Directors.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For The Following

• Design of civil services for municipal, commercial and industrial developments, including preparation of relevant documentation, and contract administration/monitoring
• Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of roads, stormwater services, sewer services, water services, ducting services and bulk earthworks
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes
• Conducting site inspections and leading site meetings
• Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges
• Interaction with Clients

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• B. Eng or B. Tech in Civil Engineering (Non-negotiable)
• Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist (or eligible to register within the next 12 months)

Experience

• Minimum 5-10 years with specific Municipal Infrastructure Design and Building Environment experience a pre-requisite
• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Competent with Civil Designer and AutoCAD
