Placements24 is seeking a Civil Engineering Consultant specializing in Transportation Planning to join our Stellenbosch office in the Western Cape. You will develop innovative transportation solutions, conduct traffic studies, and contribute to policy development for urban and regional contexts.

The role requires a deep understanding of transportation engineering, strong modeling skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in transportation planning and engineering.
• Experience with traffic modeling software such as PTV Vissim, TransCAD or Cube.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities related to traffic engineering.
• Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of South African transportation planning standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic impact assessments and network analyses.

• Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with South African transportation planning standards and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage project components independently in Stellenbosch, Western Cape .
• A strong understanding of sustainable transportation principles.
