Job summary

Delta Built Environment Consultants seeks a Civil Engineer with 3–7 years’ experience to design municipal infrastructure including roads, stormwater, water supply and sewer reticulation. You will work within a multidisciplinary team from design through construction support and close-out.

The role offers exposure to diverse projects, site inspections and technical reviews, with emphasis on practical problem solving and adherence to municipal standards.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of relevant civil engineering experience in municipal infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D for design and documentation.
• Familiarity with municipal infrastructure standards and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and develop municipal infrastructure projects incl. roads, stormwater, water and sewer.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, reports, specs, schedules and BOQ.
• Coordinate designs with architects, quantity surveyors and contractors.
• Provide technical input during tender processes and construction support.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure design compliance and quality.

Job description

Join our Municipal Infrastructure Department and contribute to the planning, design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients.

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with 3–7 years' relevant experience and strong practical experience in municipal infrastructure design, including roads, stormwater, water supply and sewer reticulation. The role offers exposure to projects from design through to construction support and close‑out, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design and develop municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater, water and sewer infrastructure.


• Undertake engineering calculations, technical analysis and detailed designs.


• Prepare and review engineering drawings, design reports, specifications, schedules and bills of quantities.


• Compile technical documentation for tender and construction purposes.


• Provide technical input during tender processes and contract administration.


• Coordinate designs and project information with architects, quantity surveyors, contractors and other consultants.


• Liaise with clients, municipalities, authorities and other stakeholders.


• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.


• Review designs and technical documentation for accuracy, quality and compliance.


• Identify and resolve technical and design‑related challenges.


• 3–7 years’ experience in municipal infrastructure design.


• Experience in roads, stormwater, water, sewer and related infrastructure.


• BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.


• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.


• Knowledge of municipal infrastructure standards and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
