Job summary

Assegai Recruitment seeks a Civil Engineer for our mining infrastructure team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will bring 3–5 years of Civil Engineering experience, focusing on mine infrastructure design from concept to detailed layouts and associated earthworks.

Responsibilities include hydrological runoff calculations, water balance modelling, and water-management infrastructure design such as dams and canals, plus mine waste facilities and tender documentation.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering or higher.
• 3–5 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Strong soil mechanics knowledge.

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with around 3 - 5 years of experience to join the Mining Infrastructure Department of a consulting engineering firm's Johannesburg office.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design of bulk earthworks, terraces, roads, etc.

• Water management infrastructure design including dams and canals
• Mine waste disposal facilities and tailings facilities

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• BEng. / BSc. Eng. in Civil Engineering or higher qualification

• Good fundamental understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics
