Currently we are looking for a Civil Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.
As our Civil Engineer you will support the senior engineer in coordinating and evaluating all tasks and designs related to geotechnical, civil, structural aspects of projects in various stages of development, execution and operations to various business units within the organisation.
Support to Development Phase
Assist with topographical, geological, geotechnical, structural and hydrological due diligence tasks
Review of country specific project risks and constraints
Provide basic design / analysis of civil related infrastructure (roads, earthworks, drainage, foundations etc)
Quantifying civil quantities for the bill of quantities
Contribute to development of the civil engineering templates, tools and internal processes
Scoping of technical studies
Presence on site during development phase to assess site conditions and compile site specific checklists / presentations
Support to Structuring Phase of projects
Assist in basic and detailed design reviews
Conducting due diligence investigations on civil related packages to ensure risks and opportunities are identified to be implemented in the detail design
Support Supply Chain Management on compilation and evaluation of RFP documents (technical specifications and bill of quantities), then engaging with suppliers to clarity the responses
Support Execution Team with planning and alignment of technical aspects of the project
Ensure that all civil design information identified throughout the structuring phase is implemented in the detail designs
Presence on site during construction phase to solve any foreseen and unforeseen civil issues
Degree in Civil Engineering
4+ years civil engineering experience
At least 1 year in solar or wind experience
An excellent knowledge of MS Office
GIS or AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge
2+ years working with EPC projects
Fluent both written and spoken in English (French would be a plus)
Driver's license
