Job summary

Nicholas O'Dwyer is seeking a Civil 3D Technician to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects across international regions, including Africa. You will produce coordinated Civil 3D models and technical drawings for treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, and related civil assets, collaborating with multi-disciplinary design teams in line with ISO 19650.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in civil infrastructure design and proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D;

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil infrastructure design.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D; experience with Revit is advantageous.
  • Experience producing GA drawings, profiles, and sections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good written and spoken English.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Civil 3D Technician to support the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and other international regions. The role involves producing coordinated Civil 3D models and technical drawings for treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, and associated civil assets, working closely with multi-disciplinary design teams in accordance with ISO 19650 and industry standards.

Core role requirements:

Below represents the core responsibilities of this role; this is by no means an exhaustive list:

  • As a Civil 3D Technician, working as part of a larger team shall be integral for the success of this role.
  • Produce and maintain Civil 3D models and technical drawings.
  • Prepare 2D/3D drawings, sections, profiles, and schedules to project standards over a range of civil water and wastewater facilities.
  • Develop and manage alignments, surfaces, corridors, pipe networks, and earthworks models as required.
  • Support ISO 19650–compliant delivery.
  • Coordinate models and drawings with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process teams.
  • Assist with model coordination and clash detection workflows (e.g. Navisworks or similar tools).
  • Implement design changes and manage model and drawing revisions.
  • Maintain models and drawings within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Support engineers with drawing production and design development activities.
  • Contribute to project handover documentation and asset information deliverables.
  • Modelling and drawing tasks will be delivered to a high standard, accurately and within agreed programme timescales.
  • Maintaining a culture of continuous improvements across all aspects of the working environment and projects.
  • To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company’s evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Ideally the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience; less experience will be considered for exceptional candidates.
  • Knowledge / experience of civil infrastructure design, construction techniques, and relevant building regulations and standards.
  • Must be proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D; experience with AutoCAD and working alongside Revit models is advantageous.
  • Experience in producing GA (General Arrangement) drawings, profiles, and sections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Word.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
  • Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly in a technical project environment.
  • The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
