Role Description

This is a freelance, on‑site role located in Cape Town for a Junior / Newly Registered City Cycling Tour Guide.

The Tour Guide will be responsible for leading guided city cycling tours, engaging with guests, and sharing local history and culture.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include ensuring the safety and satisfaction of guests, delivering high‑quality customer service, facilitating connections with local communities, and promoting additional tours or experiences.

The guide will also assist with the preparation and maintenance of cycling equipment as required.

What you'll do

• Co‑guide city cycling tours in and around Cape Town
• Support the lead guide with group management, safety and time‑keeping
• Assist guests with bike setup, helmets and basic safety briefings
• Share stories and local insights with international visitors
• Gradually take on more guiding responsibility as your confidence grows

What we’re looking for

• Newly registered tourist guide (Western Cape) – essential
• Confident and comfortable cycling in an urban environment
• Excellent people skills and a warm, professional manner
• Strong communication in English (Dutch is a big advantage; French or German welcome)
• Punctual, reliable and safety‑focused
• Able to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays
