Job summary

We’re seeking an experienced Farm Manager for a leading citrus farming business in Gamtoos Valley, Eastern Cape. You will oversee day-to-day farm operations, drive productivity, and ensure compliance across a large workforce.

You will manage irrigation, pruning, pest control, and new orchard development, requiring strong leadership, cultural awareness, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Qualifications

• Agricultural qualification or relevant certification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within citrus, fruit, or vegetable farming.
• Proven experience managing large and diverse teams.
• Strong leadership and conflict management skills.
• Ability to work effectively across different cultures and personalities.
• Resilient, emotionally mature, and able to perform under pressure.
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of farm operations, workforce productivity, orchard performance, and compliance standards.
• Lead and manage a workforce of 200+ employees.
• Monitor workforce productivity and implement effective labour strategies.
• Manage pest and disease control programs.
• Supervise irrigation systems and water management practices.
• Oversee tree pruning and orchard maintenance.
• Establish and develop new orchards.
